Peru – Successful commissioning of 20 MW Marañon and 18 MW Yarucaya HPP

GUGLER Water Turbines has successfully put into operation two major hydropower plants in Peru in 2017:
HPP Marañon: consisting of three (3) Francis turbines with a total power output of 20 MW was started up in May 2017. GUGLER Water Turbines supplied the complete electromechanical equipment . Marañon hydropower plant is the second power plant after the successful commissioning of the 13 MW Carpapata III hydropower plant in August 2016 which has been completed for the UNACEM/Celepsa group.

HPP Yarucaya: consisting of two (2) Francis turbines with a total power output of 18 MW was started up in July 2017 for the investor HUAURA POWER GROUP SA . GUGLER Water Turbines supplied the complete electromechanical equipment designed for a net head of 168 m and a discharge of 12 m3/s.
