Water storage reservoirs are an efficient battery for storing excess electricity from wind and solar power generation systems.
Hybrid grids are defined by a combination of two or more power generation technologies from renewable energy sources and an energy storage system. We offer solutions for storing energy from renewable sources in “water batteries”, which are filled by pump turbines or pumps and are used via hydro turbines. On the one hand, such systems ensure a power supply when wind or photovoltaic systems are not producing electricity and, on the other hand, help to balance grid loads.

Based on the specific site requirements, we help you choose the best solution for the specific application with:

  • Fixed or variable speed reversible pump-turbines
    • Cost efficient machinery – machine unit consisting only of pump turbine and motor/generator
    • Long service life compared to electrochemical storage solutions
  • Combinations of pumps and turbines
