The Board of Water Works of Pueblo in Colorado has awarded the contract for the design, supply, supervision of installation and commissioning of two Francis turbines with a capacity of 500 kW and 1000 kW for the Whitlock water treatment station. In addition to the turbines GUGLER Water Turbines will supply the asynchronous generators, hydraulic power units and related control system.
Net head and flow will be 42.67 m and 2.58 m3/s for the big unit and 51.82 m and 1.05 m3/s for the small unit.
GUGLER has a longtime experience in applying hydro turbines (Francis, Kaplan and Pelton) for drinking water and waste water treatment plants with installed capacity as high as 3 MW.
