New contracts from Latin America

Latin America has been an important market for GUGLER Water Turbines GmbH for a long time. We hold a major market share in most of the Latin American countries.

Colombia: Generadora Alejandria SAS has awarded the contract for the supply of one (1) vertical Open Flume Kaplan turbine together with all required electro-mechanical equipment for the hydropower plant Alejandria, located in the province of Antioquia. The Kaplan turbine uses the remaining head of HPP Alejandria which is equipped with two (2) Francis turbines of 7.7 MW each, supplied by GUGLER .

The new power station will be built at the discharge of HPP Alejandria and will be designed for a net head of 14.8 m and flow of 16 m³/s, resulting in a power output of 2.15 MW.

This new contract will be already the 11th hydropower plant which will use water turbines from GUGLER in Colombia.

Guatemala: The construction company Consegua has signed a contract with GUGLER for the supply of two (2) Francis turbines with a capacity of 650 kW each and the complete electro-mechanical equipment for the new hydropower plant El Cubo, including supervision of installation and commissioning.

The net head is 45 m and the unit flow is 1.62 m³/s.

It will be also the 11th hydropower plant which will use water turbines from GUGLER in Guatemala.
