Sweden – Refurbishment of HPP Duved completed

In November 2020 GUGLER Water Turbines has successfully completed the refurbishment of the existing hydropower plant Duved.

The contract received by Jämtkraft from Östersund in Sweden consisted of the removal of old equipment, the delivery and installation of a new Francis turbine with an installed capacity of 6.5 MW, including generator, inlet valve and hydraulic power unit.

The high head Francis turbine was designed for a net head of 205 m and a nominal flow of 3.45 m3/s.

GUGLER can look back to a longtime experience in refurbishment and modernisation of existing hydropower plants.

The market for refurbishment and modernisation of old hydro power stations will continously grow in Europe in the years to come.
