France – Kaplan Turbine for EdF

GUGLER Water Turbines, a worldwide supplier of hydropower turbines up to 15 MW, was awarded a further contract from Europe’s largest utility Electricite de France (EdF) for the hydropower project Strasbourg.

This contract comprises the supply and assembly of one Kaplan Pit turbine with an output of 745 kW. The net head is 11.9 m and the discharge 6.9 m³/s. This is the second Kaplan Pit turbine after the project Beaumont Monteux which GUGLER has supplied to EdF.
