Serbia – Major order for (3) Kaplan Pit Turbines received

GUGLER Water Turbines has been awarded a major contract for the supply of three (3) horizontal Kaplan Pit Turbines with a runner diameter of 2.85 m, including synchronous generators, gearboxes and hydraulic power units for the hydropower project Rekovici in Serbia. The investor,supported by the Swiss based consulting company Stucky,has choosen GUGLER for its long time experience in the modern Kaplan Pit turbine technology and the successful implementation of several similar Kaplan Pit turbines on the Balkans.

The installed capacity of Rekovici hydropower plant will be around 8 MW; the turbines will be designed for a net head of 5.33 m and an unit flow of 55 m3/s.  Delivery is scheduled for autumn 2019.
