Residual water turbine for Panama

GUGLER Water Turbines obtains a follow-up order from the Russian company Energomachexport Corporacion LLc for the hydropower plant Baituna in Panama. The power house will be erected directly at the foot of the existing dam of the large hydropower plant Baituna and will exploit the water quantity discharged in the lower course of the river for generating electricity.

One Francis turbine will generate an output of 1733 kW at a net head of 38.35 m and a discharge of 5.0 m³/s and the generated green electricity will be fed into the public grid. Commissioning is planned for spring 2014.
