June 2008 - Successful start ups and major contract from Turkey
1) In Greece: GUGLER Water Turbines started up successfully one (1) horizontal Francis turbine, 3 MW and one (1) vertical Pelton turbine, with 5 jets and 0.8 MW output for HPP Malakasiotiko in Greece near the famous Meteora monasteries in Greece – see pictures below. The complete E&M equipment such as control system (Scada), LV+MV switchgears and transformers were supplied, installed and commissioned.

vertical Pelton – 5 nozzles Francis turbine – 3 MW
| 2) In Norway: One (1) vertical Pelton turbine with 4 jets and an output of 822 kW has been commissioned at Bergesli Kraftverk AS in Norway. The scope of supply consisted of butterfly valve, turbine, generator and hydraulic power unit. |

3) Özalp Insaat Enerji from Turkey has awarded a major contract for the supply of the hydropower plants Dinc1 and Dinc 2, consisting of one (1) horizontal Pelton turbine with 2 nozzels and one(1) vertical Pelton turbine with 4 nozzles with an output of around 1,000 kW each, as well as synchronous generators, butterfly valves, hydraulic power units and turbine control (Scada) systems .
The main data are as follows: Dinc 1 has a net head of 182 m and discharge of 0.65 m3/s and Dinc 2 a net head of 86 m and discharge of 1.2 m3/s respectively.
The hydropower plants will be built near Adana in the South-East of Turkey.
July 2008 – Two small hydropower plants supplied to Switzerland
| 1) For HPP Gornerenbach were supplied and commissioned one (1) small vertical Francis Turbine and one (1) vertical Kaplan Spiral Turbine, each of 75 kW for the existing hydropower station at Gurtnellen in Switzerland. |

3) New order from Greece for Wastewater Treatment Station:
GUGLER Water Turbines, a global active supplier of water turbines and complete E&M packages for small hydropower plants, was awarded a contract for the supply of three (3) Kaplan tubular turbines, (3) generators, (3) hydraulic power units and complete control and electrical equipment by the largest civil company in Greece, Aktor S.A. for the Bucharest Wastewater Treatment Station in Romania.
The treated waste water with a rated discharge of 10 m3/s and a net head of 4.5m will generate electric power in three Kaplan tubular turbines of 150 kW each. The start up of this hydropower station is scheduled for summer 2009.
August 2008 – First important orders from Portugal
The internationalisation process of our company advances at a fast pace and new markets are being opened for our high quality equipment. GUGLER Water Turbines was awarded a contract for the supply of two (2) vertical Kaplan turbines with gear box, 1,725 kW each for the HPP Alvito and one (1) horizontal Francis turbine with an output of 2,590 kW for HPP Odivelas.
The main data are for:
HPP Alvito - net head of 9.6 m and flow of 20.3 m3/s each.
HPP Odivelas - net head of 76 m and flow of 3.7 m3/s.
These projects are the first contracts received in Portugal in co-operation with our local partner Efacec Engenharia and are part of the investment program in small hydropower plants developed by the state owned company EDIA.
