June 2007 / Italy – success for a long cooperation
The market for renewable energies in Italy, in particular for wind and small hydropower, is growing at a fast pace. Gugler Water Turbines GmbH receives contracts from its long time Italian cooperation partner Mecamidi-Sasso for the supply of equipment for following the two(2) small hydropower plants:
La Gagliarda: 1 vertical Pelton-Turbine with an output of 122 kW, including asynchronous generator and valve.
Lesegno: two(2) vertical Kaplan-Turbines with an output of 365 kW each, direct coupled with generator und inlet valves. Net head is 8.4 m and flow of 5 m3/s.
April 2007 / Brazil – a continuing success story
The successful cooperation with the Brazilian company Energ Power Ltda. continues with the contract award for the hydropower plant Tres de Maio:
2 Francis-Spiralturbines, each 11.000 kW - Total: 22 MW; Net head: 162 m ; Flow: 7.7 m3/s.
The hydropower plant shall be put into operation in 1st quarter of 2008.
March 2007 / New contract from Norway
Norway belongs to our traditional markets. Last year we already delivered a 2 MW Pelton-Turbine to Norway. Now the company Bergesli Kraftverk AS from Norway awarded Gugler Water Turbines GmbH a contract for the supply of a 3 jet, Pelton-Turbine with an output of 822 kW, together with a synchronous generator, hydraulic power unit and inlet valve for its new hydropower plant Bergesli.
Net head is 103 m und flow 0.9 m3/s.
Commissioning of the plant is foreseen in summer 2008.
February 2007 / Major contract from Greece
GUGLER Water Turbines GmbH was awarded a contract for the supply of the entire electromechanical equipment from Hydro Energy S.A., Athens for the new hydropower plant Malakasiotiko to be built in the north of Greece. The scope of supply consists of:
1 horizontal Francis-Turbine with 3 MW output (at net head of 05.95 m and flow of 3.2 m3/s)
1 vertical Pelton–Turbine, five jets, with 1.5 MW output
(at net head of 105,5m and flow of 1.5 m3/s)
with generators, inlet valves, digital governors as well as low and medium voltage
switchgears and power transformers.
The main success factors for the award of the contract were a convincing overall technical concept and an extreme short delivery time.
Commissioning of the hydropower plant is scheduled for 1st quarter of 2008.
